Fältanteckningar är en länk mellan Alingsås historia och vår samtid.
I stadens vinklar och vrår lagras tidens olika skikt och bildar nya helheter. Som en mjuk linje rör sig säveån genom staden, den förenar och delar. Kring dess livgivande kraft har staden under fyra hundra år byggt sina mönster i landskapet. Jag har länge intresserat mig för den urbana stadens inneboende dynamik och hur den som ett kollektivt väsen är i ständig förvandling. Lager på lager, lapp på lapp brer den ut sig som ett täcke över landskapet. Från gamla tiders odlingar, till den moderna stadens kommunikationsleder. Allt för att kunna möta förändringen i livsvillkoren och människornas skiftande behov.

I mötet med det textila verket "Fältanteckningar" vill jag att man skall uppleva kraften i stadens växande, olika tidsåldrar samverkar och bildar nya former och mönster. Verket pendlar mellan det stora perspektivet och det intimt nära. I de större ytorna möter man Jacquardvävda bilder baserade på koppartryck från Alingsås industriella historia. Historiska fotografier och egna fotografiska undersökningar av Alingsås arkitektur blir också en del av väven.
Går man sen nära, ser man mönstrade detaljer i tyger upp inspirerad av klassiska mönster. Tuskaft och Kypert, Droppdräll och Rosengång.

 

 

Field notes are a link between the history of Alingsås and our present time.
In the city's corners and nooks, layers of time are stored and form new entities.
Like a soft line, the Säve River moves through the city, uniting and dividing.
Around its life-giving power, the city has built its patterns in the landscape for four hundred years. I have long been interested in the inherent dynamics of the urban city and how it, as a collective entity, is constantly transforming. Layer upon layer, it spreads like a blanket over the landscape. From the cultivation of old times to the modern city's communication routes, all to meet the changing conditions of life and the shifting needs of people.

In encountering the textile work "Field Notes", I want one to experience the power of the city's growth, different eras working together to form new forms and patterns. The work oscillates between the larger perspective and the intimately close.
In the larger areas, one encounters Jacquard-woven images based on copper prints from Alingsås' industrial history. Historical photographs and my own photographic investigations of Alingsås' architecture also become part of the fabric. As one approaches, patterned details in fabrics inspired by classic designs become visible. Twill and satin, twill and rosepath."
